The junior 3 are doing divisions with/without a remainder at the end of the sum once again:
29 ÷ 3 = 9 r 2
Method used to work the above is the same as the divisions without a remainder, namely:
We start saying the table and counting on our fingers till the multiple gets to a bigger number than the divident. We then say that since this number is bigger we than move back one on our fingers. ie to work the above sum we have ten fingers out which equal to 30 which is too big (bigger than the 29) so we go back one (so now we have nine fingers out) this is put down as the answer. We than say the table till nine again so that we get the multiple again i.e 3 x 9 = 27 and we count on our fingers till we get to the number of the divident. ie 28, 29 therefore we get a remainder of two.
IMPORTANT: It is very important to study the tables. Unless the tables are learnt by heart well, the students will find working these divisions much more difficult than they actually are.
